Raspberry, licorice, violets and hints of orange peel dance on the nose leading to a smooth raspberry, rhubarb flavor on the palate and soft finish.

Vintage Note: Snake River Valley grape growers describe a modest yield but one of high-quality in 2014. A combination of an unusually chilly winter, a late spring frost event, and a spell of short-but-significant rains in September shuffled the usual order in which varieties ripened and readied for harvest. While the Idaho Wine Commission reports that yields were slightly lighter than 2012, the flavors were more concentrated in the fruit, giving winemakers a delicious foundation for the vintage. The Snake River Valley's hot June and July months and a pleasant, overall sunny autumn set the tone for the rest of harvest. Winemakers in the region reported outstanding quality in the 2013 Syrah, Merlot, Malbec, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Cabernet Sauvignon, with equally delicious but slightly limited Riesling.
